Shooter's Shorthairs is a Michigan based breeder of hunting German Shorthairs owned by Pete and Lisa Pehur.

We decided that as soon as we were married, one of the first things we were going to do was to purchase a dog. The breed wasn't decided at that time so the search was on. We read books, talked to people and did a lot of research to decide what type of dog was right for us; we decided on getting a German Shorthaired Pointer. Little did we know how important that decision was for us, and it was probably one of the best things we have ever done.

That was back in 1989 and since then we have owned, bred, shown and hunted over some outstanding shorthairs. Our dogs are not a commodity; they are our companions that give their all, all ofthe time. When we breed a litter we research pedigrees, performance ability and temperament to come up with the best match possible to produce dogs that will exceed our expectations of an exceptional companion in the home and dependable partners in the field (or woods). We have high standards for our dogs but by being selective in our choices, we have been successful and consistent in our breeding program.
